Emma, who has a degree in English and Philosophy and a PGCE in Drama, trained at Central School of Speech and Drama in London .
Acting Credits:
As an actor Emma’s work includes: performing at The Royal National Theatre with Frances de la Tour; ‘The Governess’, a feature film with Minnie Driver and appearing as a high profile series regular in ‘Casualty’ throughout the 1990s. She appeared alongside Pete Postlethwaite in ‘Needle’, a Jimmy McGovern screenplay; and more recently performed with Maxine Peake at The Unity Theatre.
Directing Credits include: ‘We Apologise for the Inconvenience’ by Mark Griffiths (Liverpool 2017),’Bleeding with Mother’ by Sarah Cassidy (Manchester Fringe 2017 – nominated for Best Play). ‘Welcome to Paradise Road by Brian Coyle’ (Liverpool Page to Stage Festival 2016 – Winner of Best Director, Best Play, Best Actress awards),’A Passion for Rationals’, by Sara Harris (Brighton Fringe Festival 2014).
Improvisation Training: Emma has trained in improv with The Maydays (Brighton/London); Rachel Mason & Susan Messing (Second City, Chicago); Rich & Rebecca Sohn (Annoyance Theatre, Chicago); Michael Gellman (Second City, Toronto), Shawn Kinley (Keith Johnstone’s theatre, Loose Moose, Canada), Armando Diaz (i-o Theatre, Chicago, UCB, New York).
Emma founded Liverpool Comedy Improv in 2015, teaching improv every week, and delivers improv training to wellbeing organisations and local businesses throughout the North West. She founded an actors improv troupe, The Unscriptables in 2017, who regularly perform comedy improv in the North West.
