Emma, who has a degree in English and Philosophy and a PGCE in Drama, trained at Central School of Speech and Drama in London .
Emma is a theatre director at Liverpool Royal Court Theatre. Productions include Hey Bunny Get Loose by Wendy Dickinson (May 2022). Stocking Fillers, (Dec 2022). Bingo Star by Iain Christie (March 2023). She will direct Haunted Scouse by Gerry Linford in Feb 2024.
Previously Emma has directed critically acclaimed productions at Brighton, Manchester and Liverpool Fringe Festivals.
Emma began acting professionally in 1990 in a Jimmy McGovern screenplay. She went on to appear in films with Minnie Driver and Rachel Weisz. Her theatre career included The Royal National Theatre with Frances de La Tour and other notable productions across the UK.
She is an improvisation specialist founding her own company Liverpool Comedy Improv in 2015, teaching improv to all levels in Liverpool.
Emma has taught Improvisation, Beginners and Theatre Training Company courses at MAD. She directed MAD’s summer season in 2019 (Stepping Out) and 2022 (Our Country’s Good).
