Our Summer Season is a chance for our students to take part in a full length production.
2023 SUMMER SEASON
All performances will take place at The Hope Street Theatre in August and September 2023. Details of the 2023 summer season will be announced in Spring 2023.
THE COURSE:
Once you sign up for the course you are guaranteed a speaking part in one of the plays (you must be willing to be in either play as the directors will decide on the casting once we have done the auditions).
There are only 32 places on the course, and these will be offered on a first come, first served basis.
The course costs £150. You pay a deposit when you register and make two more payments by installment.
AUDITIONS:
Auditions will take place on TBA (it’s OK if you can’t make this date just let us know and we’ll organise something)
As mentioned above, once you book a place on the course you are guaranteed a speaking part in one of the plays, the casting will take place after the audition date. If you’re unable to make the audition date let us know and we will make alternative arrangements.
The auditions are pressure free. You will be given a scene to prepare in advance. You don’t need to learn the lines.
REHEARSALS:
Rehearsals will start on TBA. They will then take place on evenings and weekends and will be scheduled around your availability (to the best of our ability). You can choose whether you would like to rehearse:
– Once a fortnight,
– Once a week,
– More than once a week.
*It is still possible to go on holiday and be involved in the production.
Availability will inform our casting process.
THE WEEK OF THE PLAY:
You must be available for all of the following:
TBA – full weekend rehearsals for both shows.
TBA – tech / dress rehearsal
TBA – performances
In 2022, we did two productions: ‘Daisy Pulls It Off’ by Denise Deegan and ‘Our Country’s Good’ by Timberlake Wertenbaker. In 2019 we did two productions: NAPOLI MILIONARIA by Eduardo De Filippo and adapted by Peter Tinniswood and STEPPING OUT by Richard Harris. All performances took place at The Hope Street Theatre 27th – 31st August.
