At the end of the day, I would definitely recommend getting a Kindle Paperwhite. Although the regular Kindle has some great features and comes in at a lower price point, I think the Paperwhite is worth the extra money due to its larger display, better battery life, and IPX8 water resistance rating. Plus, you can get the 16 GB version of the Paperwhite for only $50 more. As far as the Kindle Oasis goes, I don’t think it’s worth the extra $249 unless you really want the dedicated page turn buttons.
