SUMMER WORKSHOPS 2018:
A SHAKESPEARE TWO DAY COURSE
This is a two day course over two consecutive Saturdays (21st July and 28th July) exploring acting techniques to demystify and bring alive Shakespearian text and character. Classes will run 10-6pm both days.
We will use naturalistic Stanislavskian techniques to bring truth to 400-year-old language, also working through paraphrasing techniques to bring a high level of understanding, and meaning to the scenes.
The course is for all levels of experience and will be led by Jake Norton, actor, director and lecturer at The Liverpool Institute for the Performing Arts.
• You will have learnt techniques to use in any classical acting work
• You will be able to apply naturalistic technique to classical text
• You will have studied, learnt, rehearsed and performed a classical scene in The Hope Street Theatre
Previous workshops include:
Voice with Becci Jackson. Resonance, range and approaching text. A workshop aimed at helping you to use your voice effectively, find expression in your delivery and looking at how to work on a piece of text.
Ensemble and Chorus. Physical theatre skills with Elinor Randle.
A fun workshop looking at ensemble skills, ways of devising physically, telling stories using movement, play and improvisation. This is a fantastic opportunity to learn from a professional director and performer about an actors physicality.
