Writing for Radio is an intermediate level course for people who have previously completed our beginners playwriting course or have equivalent writing experience.
This course is suitable for anyone including scriptwriters writing for stage and screen and is led by experienced writer Karen Brown. Karen works as a writer across Theatre, Radio and screen.
Karen’s first ever script was for Radio ‘Footpowder’ about the death of the mining industry was produced by Radio 4. To date her radio work has included 2 x 75 minute serials and six single dramas.
Unusually for radio drama, Karen writes about contemporary people who are often less privileged or on the margins of society, this makes for powerful, honest drama – Radio Times
At the end of the 10 weeks you will have the opportunity to take part in a reading of a short scene that you have written.
