Ever wanted to write a play?

Playwriting for Beginners is a ten-week course aimed at people with little or no experience of writing plays.

Each class will focus on a different aspect of playwriting, and will be made up of writing exercises, reading scenes, and sharing your work. The classes will be taught in a supportive and friendly atmosphere, helping you to build your confidence as a writer, and enabling you to find your voice.

Over the course of ten weeks, you will be introduced to structure, scenes, dialogue, and characterisation; giving you the tools you need to write your play.

This is a popular course that requires full attendance and at the end of the 10 weeks you will have the opportunity to take part in a reading of a short scene that you have written, performed in front of an invited audience.

Former students have gone on to be involved in The Everyman Writers course.
