Writing for Performance is a beginner level ten-week course led by an experienced, professional writer and is aimed at people interested in writing for theatre, film, TV and radio.
Each class will focus on a different aspect of writing for performance, and will be made up of writing exercises, reading scenes, and sharing your work. The classes will be taught in a supportive and friendly atmosphere, helping you to build your confidence as a writer, and enabling you to find your voice.
Over the course of ten weeks, you will be introduced to finding inspiration and generating ideas, characterisation, structure, scenes, dialogue, and editing and re-drafting; giving you the tools you need to write your scene.
This is a popular course that requires full attendance and at the end of the 10 weeks you will have the opportunity to take part in a reading of a short scene that you have written.
(Please note that this course does not cover writing for stand up or poetry).
